A happier dog is a healthy dog!

My Story

I first became interested in animals at the age of 3 months, when I became extremely attached to my stuffed polar bear! It was then that I knew I would be destined to work with animals!

Throughout my childhood, I acquired and cared for many ordinary, and what some might call unusual pets. I have had it all: fish, birds, reptiles, mammals and of course canines. Over the last 3 years, I have acquired and cared for a broad range of exotic pets. From corn snakes to a 6 foot boa constrictor, I have also kept scorpions, bearded dragons and many species of geckos. I am the proud parent of Tiny and Tommy, 2 red-eared-slider turtles who, in 2006, celebrated their 15th birthdays weighing in at a healthy 3.5 pounds each.

My formal education and training is a result of attending and successfully graduating from the Animal Care program at Sheridan College. It was there I learned the most about anatomy, physiology, husbandry and caring for both healthy and sick animals. Along the way, I was heavily involved in local animal related volunteer work. Separately, in one of my summers off, I travelled to the rainforest of Costa Rica, where I volunteered my time helping preserve the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtle. Upon graduation, I began my animal working career as a Zookeeper. I have since decided to seek more fulfilling day-to-day activities, hence the birth of Doggie-cise.

Nine years ago, I chose to dedicate my life to animal care and have not looked back since. My passion is working with dogs to improve their lives; you should be at ease knowing that your dog will receive a standard of care far exceeding even the highest expectations!

Happy trails,
